1/7/2024 0 Comments Chaos control hair product![]() To them, such assessments may seem highly alarmist. Many Europeans, of course, live in parliamentary democracies where coalitions and compromises are commonplace. Even Borne, who won her own race by a hair against an unknown leftist candidate, emphasized the exceptional nature of the event, warning that this “unprecedented situation poses a risk to our country.” In the conservative newspaper Le Figaro, which described the results as a “leap into the unknown,” the pollster Jérôme Fourquet warned that France might become “ungovernable.” In the liberal Le Monde, the editorialist Françoise Fressoz worried that this electoral “earthquake” would leave the country incapacitated. Nevertheless the outcome of the election-one in which 54 percent of voters did not bother to participate-stunned political observers. It was only when this effort to appear presidential instead looked like another instance of his Jupiterian arrogance that Macron hit the campaign trail, wildly warning that Mélenchon’s coalition was no less antidemocratic than Le Pen’s RN. He waited weeks before naming a prime minister, the technocrat Élisabeth Borne, while trying to remain above the fray. Not only had the gap between Macron and Le Pen narrowed since 2017-when the former won more than 66 percent of the vote-but Macron ran a legislative campaign that veered from lackadaisical to controversial. The result is France’s most divided parliament since the founding of the Fifth Republic in 1958.įew observers expected Renaissance, the new moniker for Macron’s own party, to fully live up to its name in the legislative elections. And a coalition of four leftist parties, New Ecological and Social People's Union (NUPES), led by the acerbic and often antagonistic hard-left politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon, took 131 seats. A conservative party, Les Républicains, won 64. Le Pen’s Rassemblement National (RN) won a historically remarkable 87 seats-more than ten times the number it previously controlled. But in the June legislative elections, Macron’s center-right coalition failed to win a majority in the 577-member National Assembly. ![]() In last April’s presidential election, a rematch of the country’s 2017 contest, French President Emmanuel Macron defeated his extreme right-wing opponent, Marine Le Pen, with 58.6 percent of the vote. Return to top What are the launch games for PlayStation 5? 1/7/2024 0 Comments Worms reloaded xbox![]() Seeing as it’s the type of game that has no definitive ending, the replay value is very high. Overall then I think Worms Reloaded is definitely a good game because it’s very fun to play both single player and with friends, however I do think that you have to like the Worms series going into it to actually enjoy it and the frustration caused by the single player campaign will but some people off. Saying this, during the  early missions the AI enemy had this strange habit of taking themselves out allowing me to sit back with a fruity cocktail and a good book – this doesn’t last though. The only problem with  having so many weapons is that your AI counterparts are almost always able to pull off shots with grenades  and bazookas that are not even in the spectrum of thought for most normal players. The sheer  amount of weapons at your disposal would even make Ron Schmeits run away in fear. Thankfully the majority of the more normal weapons are generally  unlimited, whilst the more insane weapons such as Holy Hand Grenade, Concrete Donkey, Buffalo of Lies  and Armageddon are sparse enough to make using them incredibly fun but not over baring. The choice of weapons is a major part of any Worms title, the crazier and more dangerous a weapon is the  more you’ll want to play with it. I think, however, that the music is deliberately over-the-top and seems to parody the large budget musical scores of games such as Halo and Modern Warfare 2. On the subject of sounds and music of the game, the background music during actual gameplay is very good if not a tiny bit over-the-top. This time however I think they went too far in this regard, there must be in excess of 30 different voice sets and I think they should have created a greater variety of phrases for a smaller number of sets because the repetition of phrases does start to grate after a prolonged period of time. I of course created the same team that I always do, the original Team 17 team from Worms 1 and this time I gave them all flat caps and the ‘cricket’ voice in order to make it seem like they’re from Yorkshire. One of the features that newer Worms games have had is the ability to fully customise a team of your own by picking a voice set, gravestone, victory dance etc. This inclusion of the ‘puzzle’ challenges does help to break up any tedium that a game like Worms can create. Dotted throughout the standard kill everyone matches, there are a few ‘puzzle’ scenarios which are incredibly easy to solve but are quite funny to pull off. The campaign mode is fun but frustrating, which is what I look for in a campaign – no point in it being too easy now. Single player mode is reasonably expansive for a game like Worms, there’s six gameplay types ranging from a standard campaign mode which is 35 levels long and becomes frustratingly unfair towards the end, two gameplay modes which seem to be general survival scenarios, a training mode and quick and custom games which actually seem to be the same as local multiplayer settings. The standard formula of a Worms game is that the player makes a team and then proceeds to kill other teams which are either AI or Player controlled in a variety of crazy landscapes, but that’s the formula that made Worms the series it is and I’m thankful that they’ve remembered that. The latest installment in the series is Worms Reloaded and to be honest if one was to place a screenshot of Reloaded next to say, a screenshot of Worms Armageddon then the immediate differences wouldn’t be obvious to the eye. ![]() Now things have changed in the series, the wackiness has got wackier, the graphics have got cartoonier and thankfully that little flutter that Team 17 had with 3D gameplay has been taken out back and humanly put down. I have always been a massive fan of the Worms series, all the back to 1995 when the first was released for the PC. Finally an end to the dry-spell of reviewing on my part, I was handed the opportunity to review Worms Reloaded on the PC and I jumped at it like a shot. 1/7/2024 0 Comments Libraries lost to time![]() When her mother passed away, though, Zauner discovered nonfiction writing as a therapeutic outlet to explore what had happened in a way that music could not. “But then I came to realize toward the end that my creative life actually had so much to do with (my mother and I’s) relationship and so much of the friction between us stemmed from this creative life I wanted so desperately for myself.”īack in college, Zauner never anticipated nonfiction writing being part of her career, she said, as her mixed-race background never felt accessible to write about in the literary world because of a lack of representation. ![]() “In the book, I really shied away from writing about my life as a musician,” Zauner said. ![]() Reshaping her experiences into a more music-focused angle for the screen has been the greatest challenge, she said. It’s not something you normally find in a horror game, but its use here felt fitting and cosmically creepy. One thing I especially liked was the game’s use of colour, with a surprising amount of vibrancy found in the world. It might be a stretch to say it’s almost like a Metroidvania-style game, but it did implement backtracking in a purposeful and satisfying way – especially since it helps you piece together more elements of the mystery or find collectibles that boost your stats. It’s possible to re-visit areas when you’ve found key items later in the game, so there’s always something new to uncover as you progress further. The level design stands out too, with each expansive area not only looking wonderful and varied in-game, but also encouraging exploration from the player. It’s not something you normally find in a horror game, but its use here felt fitting and cosmically creepy.” “One thing I especially liked was the game’s use of colour, with a surprising amount of vibrancy found in the world. They’re intense showdowns that add a whole new element of challenge to the gameplay. It’s never a case of simply outgunning your foe but instead out-thinking them and using their psyche against them, which fits both the gameplay and the narrative perfectly. I was a big fan of the boss encounters too, which utilised the aforementioned gameplay mechanics in unique and fun ways. ![]() It’s really good stuff and came as a pleasant surprise after the fairly ordinary opening of the game. Whilst there are segments that feel more traditional in design (such as sneaking or shooting) and some puzzles that simply require you to power up electric devices with fuses, it’s always complemented by another element of design that feels a bit more unique. It brings plenty of neat ideas to the mix that ensure the player isn’t doing the same things for too long, with each innovation challenging their skills in different ways. Each patient’s level has to be handled in a different way, whether that’s by avoiding the darkness and staying in the light, finding hidden messages in the environment, or even using the broken shard of a mirror to fend off a monster that’s afraid of its own appearance. However, it’s the variety of the tasks you complete that makes In Sound Mind shine. ![]() Nothing like an amnesiac protagonist in a horror game, right?” “Like a lot of titles in the genre, In Sound Mind starts with players awakening in a dark and abandoned room, with no idea how they got there. There’ll be puzzles to solve along the way too, whilst the variety of eerie areas that you travel across bring with them all sorts of peculiar and disturbing sights to see. You know, wandering around through barely lit hallways with a torch (which you have to find batteries for, of course), sneaking past monsters, or occasionally killing those that are actually vulnerable to weaponry. With each patient requiring a different approach from the player, it makes for a varied and enjoyable gameplay experience.Ī lot of In Sound Mind follows the same hallmarks you’d have seen plenty of times before in other horror games. It’s up to you to figure out what exactly happened to these people and why a mysterious creature in a yellow jacket seems to be pinning the blame upon you.Īfter making his way to his office and finding the cassette tapes for each of his patients, Desmond is able to explore their psyche, learn more of their story, and face their greatest fears in the form of monstrous creatures that roam each locale. Nothing like an amnesiac protagonist in a horror game, right? Well, it turns out that you’re actually Doctor Desmon Wales, a psychologist that has worked with an array of different people that have required your service people who have unfortunately also ended up dead. Like a lot of titles in the genre, In Sound Mind starts with players awakening in a dark and abandoned room, with no idea how they got there. Check out a gallery of screenshots down below: ![]() It is worth noting that it also has some awkward little bugs too, though there’s nothing that should stop players from enjoying the game… they just might cause some unnecessary frustrations. Sure, a lot of the same elements of gameplay are here that you’d have probably already seen in the likes of Outlast, Layers of Fear, and so forth, but it also introduces some neat ideas of its own that help it stand out from the crowd. It was a pleasant surprise then when In Sound Mind felt genuinely different to its peers. It’s fine, especially since it is the scares that are often the crux of the experience, but it can make the games feel a little bit predictable in design. The first-person horror genre is one that rarely innovates, but instead recycles a lot of the same ideas albeit in different scenarios. 1/7/2024 0 Comments Maytronics dolphinWe’re proud to be your pool products’ dealer and a certified Gold Elite dealer of Maytronics products.ĭo you think that a Maytronics Dolphin is right for you?
